HARRISBURG – United States Attorney David J. Freed and Dauphin County District Attorney Francis T. Chardo provide the following update after this afternoon’s press conference on the Harrisburg shooting.
As the Chief Law Enforcement Officer for Dauphin County it has always been my goal to provide transparency to our government and to give the public a channel for communicating with the police, free of intimidation. On 23 Sept 2013, at approximately 8:40 AM, Steelton Police responded to the 200 block of South 2nd Street for a landlord / tenant dispute. Investigation revealed that a Mr. Marty Vargo shoved two people during this incident. Mr. Vargo was charged with two counts of Harassment.
