Real Estate Scams:  Residents that are purchasing a property and awaiting settlement will receive an email from a person posing as their realtor.  The email will state that they need to wire a large sum of money to be put into escrow to go forward with settlement.  Unfortunately, many wire the money and later discover that the email(s) and the recipient of the funds were not legitimate, and they are a victim of a scam.  The true realtor's email and the scam email are usually very similar with a character added and sometimes

The Lower Swatara Township Police has recently observed a rise in email scams. These scammers take advantage of victims by using the “fear for pay” tactic, also known as extortion. An email is usually sent to the victim containing a previously used password and a threat to “leak” embarrassing information about the victim in exchange for a payment. The Highspire Borough Police Department is in possession of lost and found or recovered property. The types of items in our possession are electronics, bicycles, purses, keys and jewelry. If you have lost or have had property stolen, please contact our office and provide us wit a description of the lost or stolen items. If you have previously reported lost or stolen property, please do not contact the office because those items are automatically queried for ownership. April 23, 2020.....Norfolk Southern has confirmed a train derailed at approximately 2 p.m. in Perry County.  This derailment has closed Roberts Valley Road in Susquehanna Township.  All, except local residents, are asked to please avoid this area if at all possible.  It is unknown when the road will reopen.

This little one was found running around in the area of the 300 Block of East High Street in Middletown Borough. She has no collar, and no ID chip was located with our scanner. She is very skittish. If you are her owner, please contact Middletown Borough Police at 717-558-6900

PennDOT announced that a contractor is scheduled to begin an emergency project to replace a deteriorated pipe on Route 322 (Governor Road) in Derry Township.

Work is set to begin Monday, April 20, weather permitting. There will be temporary lane restrictions under daylight flagging on West Governor Road between Greenlea Road and Hockersville Road. There also will be flagging on Cherry Drive at the intersection with West Governor Road while the contractor replaces the pipe at the intersection.
