West Chocolate Avenue (422) between Cocoa Avenue (743) and Valley Road is now open in both directions. Ridge Road between West Chocolate Avenue and Park Boulevard remains closed.

Power is being restored to the area. Businesses and residences are clear for people to return. Chocolate Avenue (422) will remain closed between Valley and Cocoa (743) so UGI can conduct repair work.

A Media update will be available from DTPD PIO at the media staging area at 12:30 pm

Media Staging Area will be in tee he area of The Hershey Theatre, just east of Cocoa Avenue on East Caracas Area.

Power has been shut off in the downtown area of Hershey due to the natural gas leak. Please avoid this area. Please avoid uses of electrical devices and motor vehicles as they could be ignition sources.

Chocolate Avenue from Valley Road to Cocoa Avenue is closed due to a gas leak in the area. Please avoid this area.

The burn ban imposed on 4/3/2019 at 7:00 am has been lifted, effective today 4/4/2019 at 7:00 am.

Outdoor Burn Ban

Effective:   April 3rd, 2019; 7:00am


As a result of a “Red Flag Warning” issuance issued by the National Weather Service relative to conditions prevalent for fire, no open outdoor burning shall be permitted within Derry Township until further notice.

Update: Found dog returned to its owner..  Male Husky was found near Chestnut St and Plane St today around 1:00pm.  Anyone having information on the dog or its owners is asked to call police at 717-558-6900.

Middletown Borough Police are requesting assistance in locating the whereabouts of Hunter Capp.

Capp was last known to be at the Hops and Barleys Bar in the Borough. Capp was then to be on foot in town waiting for a ride to pick him up when his phone went dead and contact was lost with family and friends.

Capp is described as a white male, 21 years old, 5’10, 150 pounds, with blue eyes, brown hair, and a goatee. He was last believed to be wearing jeans, a sweatshirt and baseball style hat.
