Today 10/25/2019 at 1130hrs the Susquehanna Township Police Department will be releasing a community policing video for News and Media representatives at the Susquehanna Township Police Station. Officers will be available for interviews at the station.
The annual Hershey Half Marathon is slated for Sunday, October 20th. Road closures and detours will be occurring throughout areas in and around Hershey and Hersheypark starting at about 7:00 - 7:15 am. The road closures should be reopened by about 10:45 - 11:00 am.
Some of the public roadways that will be affected by this event will be the roadway closures of :
1. Park Blvd., between Hersheypark Dr., (SR 2016) and Ridge Rd.;
2. Park Ave., (SR 0743) between E. Derry Rd., and Chocolate Ave., (SR 0422);
Temporary parking restrictions will take place on October 15, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm along the parade route for the Annual Halloween Parade in Hershey These parking restrictions are being posted ahead of the date of the parade to give notice to motorists who normally use those parking zones. PennDOT will be closing Wood Road from October 21st thru October 30th to replace and update four corrugated metal cross pipes and replacing them with corrugated plastic pipes. They will have temporary daily road closures and a detour setup. They will close the road everyday starting at 6am and reopen the road at 6pm. The detour route will be as follows:

The Derry Township Police Department is advising motorists that the annual Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Fall Meet will take place October 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th 2019. Traffic will be extremely heavy beginning Tuesday, October 8th, through Saturday, October 12th, especially on Hersheypark Drive (SR39), Park Boulevard, Park Avenue (SR743), Sandbeach Road, and North Hockersville Road. Motorists who normally use Park Boulevard are urged to take a different route during this time period.
Over the next couple of weeks Middletown Borough Police will be focusing on the safety of pedestrians in crosswalks and enforcing violations as it pertains to the right of way of pedestrians in crosswalks. The Borough of Middletown has many citizens that walk the borough for the purposes of work, school, exercise or just to take in the scenery of our great Borough. As a driver please be aware of your surroundings and give the right of way to pedestrians in the intersection when driving.
On August 30th 2019 a HIA TSA agent found a small lab-mix puppy in the area of colebrook road and Deodate Road in Londonderry township. Middletown Borough Police attempted to assist HIA police with using our Animal Chip Reader but there were negative results. If this is your dog please contact HIA police at 717-948-3501 as they currently have the dog in their care.
