Derry Township Police have charged ADAM ARTZ, age 29, of Hummelstown with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Restraint, Terroristic Threats, Persons Not to Possess Firearms, Simple Assault and Possession of Marijuana following an incident in the 1600 block of Macintosh Way, Hummelstown (Derry Township) on Sunday, May 19th. ARTZ reportedly held a pocketknife to a victim's throat, loaded a magazine into an assault rifle and restrained the victim for several hours while threatening to kill her and her family. The victim was ultimately able to leave the residence and contact police.
ARTZ was taken into custody at his residence without incident and a rifle was recovered from the scene. ARTZ was transported to the Dauphin County Judicial Center for arraignment and ultimately remanded to Dauphin County Prison after failing to post the assessed $100,000 bail amount. ###
