Luis A. Espinal-Rivera was arrested on May 3, 2022 at about 11:02 pm by Derry Township Police. He was charged with Aggravated Assault (3 counts), Intimidation of Victim/Witness, Strangulation - Applying pressure to throat or neck (2 counts), Stalking, Simple Assault (2 counts), and Loitering and Prowling at Night Time. Espinal-Rivera had previously been charged by police as a result of an incident on April 9, 2022, where he choked/strangled the victim and punched the pregnant victim in the stomach. Espinal-Rivera allegedly continued his violent intimidation of the victim through incidents on April 24th, May 1st and May 2nd, where he punched the pregnant victim in the stomach, threatened harm to the victim and her unborn child, punched the victim in the nose, choked her, stabbed the victim with a fork, struck her with a baseball bat, and punched her in the head. Espinal-Rivera also allegedly reached out to the victim in attempt to intimidate and harass her into dropping the previous charges against him. On the night of May 3rd, Espinal-Rivera was allegedly outside of the victim's residence, wearing a black ski mask, and was allegedly attempting to gain the attention of the victim by throwing items at the residence. He also allegedly had the iPhone of the victim, which he had stolen previously. He was taken into custody by officers without incident and arraigned at the Dauphin County Judicial Center.
