On April 13, 2019 at about 3:42 pm, the Derry Township Police were called to West Governor Road, just West of Cocoa Avenue for a report of a bicyclist struck by a motor vehicle. On arrival, officers found the cyclist sustained minor injuries. It was determined the 12-year-old bicyclist was attempting to cross West Governor Road and once traffic in the east lane of West Governor Road had stopped, the cyclist proceeded to cross West Governor Road to travel from the south side to the north side. A Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by Anthony Spencer was traveling east in the left turn lane in order to make a left turn onto Cocoa Avenue. The cyclist, traveling between stopped cars rode directly into the path of Spencer's car. After being struck by Spencer's car, the cyclist was forced into a stopped Toyota Highlander, operated by Tek Ghimirey. No charges are being filed in connection with the crash.
