DTPD Honor Guard at 2023 National Police Week
Derry Township Police Honor Guard members were once again, for the 3rd year, able to be in Washington, D.C. for National Police Week and Police Officers Memorial Day on May 15, 2023. Our Honor Guard members were on hand, assisting and honoring the families of fallen officers as they arrived at the airport. The Honor Guards from various departments stood in solidarity for those families as they got off their flights to attend services to remember their loved ones that gave their last full measure in their duties as law enforcement officers. They assisted the families during their time in Washington D.C. to honor their fallen family member. This is some of what the sisterhood and brotherhood looks like. We honor those who laid down their lives in the commitment to making their communities safer...to making our country safe. We also take this time to remember one of our own Michael "Big Mike" L. Henry, Jr., who gave his last full measure serving our community, on January 2, 2020. We miss you, Mike, and continue to honor your memory. Thank you to our Honor Guard members for taking care of the families of the sisters and brothers we lost in this past year.
