Military Appreciation/Salute to Service Patch
The Derry Township Police Department, with the help of Worldwide Custom Creations LLC, has created a department shoulder patch in recognition and remembrance of those who died while serving our great Country and to honor our active and retired military members for their service. We will be selling these patches for $10/patch and all proceeds will be donated to the Courtyard of Honor.
The Courtyard of Honor(501c3) is currently in the planning stages. Once completed, The Courtyard of Honor will be a memorial in downtown Hershey, PA. The Courtyard of Honor project will honor those who have served during active war and/or have made the ultimate sacrifice. The proposed plans for the Courtyard will consist of multiple flag poles, a 9/11 memorial dedicated to Michael Horrocks (First Officer, Co-Pilot of United Airlines Flight #175 and 1981 Hershey High School graduate), and memorials for Veterans and Emergency Responders of Derry Township. The Courtyard of Honor is a memorial to those citizens of Hershey and Derry Township who have served their nation and their community as members of the military or served as first responders, with particular recognition given to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice as a result of their selfless service and devotion to duty.
Anyone interested in buying a patch can do so by contacting Officer Jason Rode by email jtrode@derrytownship.org or by calling (717)534-2202 and when prompted, can dial extension 3440. He will also accept payment mailed to our department at –
