DTPD Thanks Dispatchers on National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week
April 15, 2019
The entire Derry Township Police Department wishes to thank our dispatchers this week, which is designated as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. The dispatchers at Derry PD are often the first person you talk with when calling in about something minor like a question about police services, to something more serious like a crash or crime. They take information, dispatch the call and keep our officers updated. Their role in the chain of events that leads to officers handling calls for service is often overlooked, and the officers usually get the entire credit for successful outcomes. In reality, they are that lifeline for both the community and our officers here at DTPD. Thank you to all of our dispatchers here at DTPD - Marc, Glenn, Ashley, Valerie, Tim, Dale, Anna, Nathan, Joe, and Justin! You do a great job and keep our community and our department safe each and every shift.
We would also like to give a quick shout-out to all of the dispatchers at Dauphin County 911. We really appreciate the partnership you have shown us over the years. Your ability to connect and work with our dispatchers is greatly appreciated and a great working relationship that helps to keep our officers and community service officers safe!
