     Just a reminder that certain roadways will be closed to vehicular traffic this afternoon/evening in and around the square in Hershey.

Park Avenue (SR0743) from Chocolate Avenue to East Derry Road already closed at 10:00 am today and will remained closed until 3:00 am, January 1, 2023.  Local traffic will still be able to get to residences on Park Avenue and Trinidad.

The 1000 block of West Areba Avenue between Briarcrest Dr & Governor Rd (SR322) will be closed for the next 4-6 hours due to a water main break. ###

Park Avenue (State Route 743) between Chocolate Avenue and East Derry Road in the area of Zoo America is closed due to a disabled truck carrying an oversized load.  Recovery crews estimate a one-hour removal time.

Pokice are currently investigating a motor vehicle crash on Rt. 322 between Quarry Rd and the cloverleaf with Rts. 422/322/39. Restricted lanes in both directions and traffic is moving very slow. Please use caution in the area.

All traffic signals that were out as a result of the power outage are now functioning.

While the power is still out in the area of the 700 Block of Fishburn Road, the power has been restored to the traffic signal at West Governor (322) and Fishburn.  The traffic signal at Fishburn and Cocoa is still out.

A water main break at the intersection of Amber Dr and Brookline Dr was reported.  PA American Water Company is on scene and will provide additional notices to affected residents.  Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. It is recommended that residents of Amber Drive relocate their vehicles immediately to other streets as repair work will likely affect the access and egress to the homes. Estimated repair time is unknown. ###

     We wanted to advise of the possibility of heavy traffic conditions in and around Hershey on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.  Hersheypark Stadium will be hosting the Motley Crue and Def Leppard with Poison concert.  The slated bands for the concert start to perform at 4:30 pm and the concert will end at 11:00 pm.  The entrance lane to Hersheypark/Hersheypark Stadium  from northbound Park Boulevard at the intersection of Chocolate World Way will be closed off at about 11:00 am to incoming traffic to mitigate concert traffic through the village of Hershey.&

As a result of a “Red Flag Warning & Fire Weather Watch” issued by the National Weather Service relative to conditions prevalent for brush fires in our region, the Township Emergency Management Agency has declared that no open outdoor burning is permitted within Derry Township on the Friday, April 29, 2022.
