On January 6, 2019, at approximately 3:20 a.m., Officers responded to Jimmy John’s for a report of an active theft. The employee stated that he had closed the store for the evening and was cleaning up. The suspect, Angela Britt, came to the door and he let her in. She was tried to purchase some items. The employee had the drawer open and Britt reached in and grabbed the cash. She then tried to flee the store with all those items. The employee physically stopped her and a scuffle ensued. During the scuffle, Britt bit the employee’s arm. The Police arrived a short time later. Britt was observed standing inside the store just on the other side of the front glass wall. Upon seeing police, she began throwing a table and chairs behind the counter.
Britt was ordered to come outside. She eventually complied and was taken into custody. Once in custody she tried to spit at the employee and Officers. A transport van arrived and she was taken to booking and subsequently charged with one count each of Robbery, Institutional Vandalism, and Simple Assault.
