On Thursday, April 5, 2018, Harrisburg Police conducted a Warrant Sweep for individuals with outstanding warrants.
Donald Diehl had a warrant for Access Device Fraud – Use Another’s Device W/O Authorization and two counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking-Movable. Diehl had been making unauthorized withdrawals from his mother’s account while they were living together. Between February and October of 2017, Diehl had stolen approximately $39,000 from his mother’s bank accounts via online banking, with neither her knowledge nor authorization. Diehl had reportedly confessed to his mother in October 2017 and then made arrangements to have her taken to Spring Creek Nursing Home. The thefts continued while she was in Spring Creek.
On December 27, 2017, an agent from the Dauphin County Area on Aging contacted Harrisburg Police regarding the theft and a formal investigation was opened. Diehl was taken into custody on April 5, 2018.
