On 8/6/17 at 0026 hours, Harrisburg Police were attempting to speak to male at 2nd and Pine Streets regarding an unrelated incident at a bar. As officer were attempted to approach the male to speak with him a female, later identified as Paola Flores-Gonzalez, quickly positioned herself in between the male and officers. She began yelling at officers in an aggressive manner. Flores-Gonzalez was ordered to get out of their way, which was ignored by her and had to be physically moved to gain access to the male. Flores-Gonzalez then punched one of the officer in the center of his chest and attempted to flee. As officers attempted to take control of her she became violent and created a danger to officers as they were attempting to investigate another matter.
As officer were attempting to take Flores-Gonzalez into custody a large crowd gathered around the them that was becoming uncooperative and aggressive. As officers cuffed Flores-Gonzalez the group moved towards the officers who ultimately deployed mace to keep the crowd back for their safety.
Flores-Gonzalez was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement, Simple Assault, Obstructing Administration of Law or Other Government Function, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct (M3).
