On Monday January 16th 2023, at about 8:00am, the Harrisburg Police responded to the area of South 13th and Berryhill Streets for a report of a robbery at gunpoint. Upon officers arriving in the area they made contact with the victim, an adult female. The victim advised that she was walking in the area when she was approached by an unknown male suspect. The suspect displayed a handgun and ordered the victim to engage in sexual acts with him. The victim attempted to fight the suspect off and was struck by the suspect. The suspect then took items belonging to the victim and fled the area on foot.
Officers in the area later observed a male matching the suspect's description and upon attempting to stop the male he fled on foot, leading officers on a foot chase. The male was eventually caught and detained, and positively identified as the suspect that assaulted and robbed the victim. Property belonging to the victim, items that were taken in the robbery, were recovered. Drugs were also recovered on the suspect. The suspect was eventually identified as Giovannoi Hall. Hall was transported to Dauphin County Booking for arraignment on his charges, to include robbery, firearms offenses, a sexual assault offense, assault, and various other charges.
