On March 24, 2019, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Harrisburg Officers responded to a domestic incident at a residence on the 200 block of N 2nd Street. The suspect, Preston Nichols, had been hanging out with the victim when he began arguing with her. The argument turned physical and Nichols grabbed the victim by her neck, shaking her. He threw her to the ground and choked her. Nichols held a kitchen knife to her throat and threatened that she would die. He kicked and punched the victim and took her cell phone out of her hand before he left.
When Officers made entry into the apartment, Nichols jumped out of the window and onto the rear deck of McGrath’s Pub. He entered the bar and locked himself in the bathroom. He eventually surrendered to Police. Nichols was taken to a local hospital for treatment as he had sustained a cut to his hand. He is being charged with Robbery, Strangulation, Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault, and Disorderly Conduct.
