On 10-27-22 at about 0445hrs Harrisburg Police Patrol Units responded to the area of 20th and Holly Sts in reference to an active kidnapping. Upon arrival they met with the reporting party, who advised her 4 and 5 year old sons were taken forcibly by an individual named Kenneth Smiley (dob 1-3-83). Smiley was reportedly driving a black Nissan Maxima bearing Pa registration LMJ5478. He was a known party.

A very active investigation took place over the next 5 hours as the search for the children, Smiley, and the car took place. An Amber Alert was issued this morning in reference to this case at about 0750hrs. 

At about 0815hrs 10-27-22 the vehicle was observed by an alert Harrisburg City Police Officer. The vehicle was found parked in the 200 Block of S 19th St. It was occupied by the 4 and 5 year old children. They were unharmed. Smiley was not present at that scene. The children were transported to a local hospital for evaluation as a precaution. 

Kenneth Smiley is currently wanted on charges of Criminal Attempt Homicide (3 Counts), Burglary, Kidnapping (3 Counts), Strangulation, Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats, and Simple Assault. He is also a wanted absconder from PA State Parole.
