Case

On Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 6:37 p.m., Harrisburg Police responded to the 3000 block of N 2nd Street for multiple calls for shots fired.  Officers arrived on scene and found a male lying on the sidewalk with an apparent self-inflicted fatal gunshot wound.  He was identified as 29-year-old Daniel Finkel.  A second male, identified as 38-year-old Jeremy Cadwallader, was found nearby with gunshot injuries.  Cadwallader was transported to Holy Spirit Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died.

During the investigation, it was learned that Daniel Finkel, the shooter, had been involved in a domestic incident earlier on the West Shore with a female.  Finkel was charged regarding that incident and released.  Following his release, Finkel returned to his residence on N 2nd, where he found the female and Jeremy Cadwallader, who was there to assist the female in moving out.  Finkel confronted the two, informing them that they were all going to die.  The female immediately ran.  Finkel shot Cadwallader multiple times on the porch, then went to the sidewalk where he then turned the gun on himself.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Harrisburg Bureau of Police at (717) 558-6900 or submit the information through CrimeWatch.
