Case

On 3/15/16 at 0215 hours, Harrisburg Police officers observed a dark colored Honda Accord in the area of 4th and Woodbine Streets that was occupied by James T. Brown Jr., B/M/28.  There appeared to blunt tobacco on the ground outside of the vehicle.  This is consistent with marijuana usage.  They approached the vehicle and spoke to Brown.  Brown appeared to be very nervous and officers could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from within the vehicle.  Officers requested Brown’s driver’s license and went back to their vehicle to check the license to verify it was valid.  As backup officers arrived, Brown drove off at a high rate of speed and turned off his lights to prevent officers from following him.  Officers lost sight of the vehicle.

Officers quickly responded to the registration address of the vehicle.  As officers arrived they observed Brown enter the residence.  Officer surrounded the residence and ordered brown to come out of the residence.  Brown exited and surrendered without incident.

The vehicle that Brown fled in was found on the 100 block of Hamilton Street.  A 40 caliber handgun could be seen in plain view.  A searched of the vehicle revealed a 20 gauge sawed off shotgun, 250 rounds of ammunitions, and body armor.

Brown was already being sought after for an active Capias from State Parole
