On 06/30/2016 at 0304 hours, Harrisburg Police responded to the 2000 block of N 2nd Street for a report of a robbery with a hand gun. The victim, W/F/33, related they were parked on MaClay at Penn Street waiting to be dispatched for their next fare. A male then approached and pointed a handgun in the driver’s window and demanded all of the her money. The driver, who was in fear for her safety, gave the male her cell phone and $80 in cash. The male then ran south on Green Street.
The male is described as a black male, thin, 5'7" tall, 19 or 20 years old, wearing a red sweatshirt pulled over his face, and black shorts. The handgun was described as a black semi-automatic.
Units searched the area for anyone matching the description and were unable to locate the individual. I spoke with employees inside the store at the Sunoco and they reported that a male matching that description had just left the store.
The Sunoco stores will not allow officers to download or view video directly from their systems to help identify the suspect. The police are required to submit in writing requesting the video and purpose for its use. Tis is to be submitted to their security department during business hours.
Anyone that may know this individual or have information on this individual is asked to call police at 717-558-6900 and ask for a detective or supervisor.
Dauphin County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2000 for information leading to an arrest in this incident.
