On June 29th, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Harrisburg Animal Control Officers responded to a call at 6th and Emerald Streets regarding two dogs that had escaped from a residence. One of the dogs, a female Brindle, attacked a six-year-old Mountain Feist that was being walked by its owner, resulting in injuries. The owner of the Feist attempted to separate the dogs; however, he could not and had to defend himself and his dog with a knife. The attacking dog was injured. Both the Brindle and Feist were taken to the vet for medical treatment.
The owner of the Bridle was cited for having unleashed animals. Animal Control is waiting for current licensing and rabies certifications to determine if additional citations are warranted.
