Fugitive Homicide Suspect Arrested

On March 8th, 2018 at 8:00 PM Harrisburg Police was assisted by the U.S. Marshals Task Force and the Pennsylvania State Police in arresting a fugitive wanted for murder in Arkansas who had been hiding in Harrisburg since February.

David Bell, 27, was arrested in the 1900 block of Boas Street in Allison Hill. Bell was wanted out of North Little Rock in connection with the January 26 shooting death of Zechariah Jones, 33, in his home.

Police received information that Bell may be hiding out in Harrisburg.  Officers surrounded the home, knocked on the door, and were let inside by the residents.

Officers confronted a man who matched the appearance of Bell, but he denied his identity. Police arrested him without incident and found a bullet-resistant vest in the bedroom where he was staying.

No gun was recovered from the home. Bell was booked into the Dauphin County Jail, where he will await extradition to Arkansas.

Harrisburg Police continues to partner with the US Marshals Taskforce and surrounding jurisdiction in making the City safe.
