2017 Law Enforcement Congressional Badge of Bravery

Senator Toomey to Honor Harrisburg Police Officer with Congressional Badge of Bravery

U.S. Senator Pat Toomey, in conjunction with the Harrisburg Police Department, will host a ceremony presenting Harrisburg Police Officer Chad McGowan with the Congressional Badge of Bravery.

The Congressional Badge of Bravery honors exceptional acts of bravery in the line of duty by federal, state, and local law enforcement officers. On December 22, 2017, Officer McGowan confronted and killed an armed suspect, saving other officers from death and serious injury.

Following an extensive nomination process, the U.S. Attorney General has cited just 18 recipients for the 2017 Law Enforcement Congressional Badge of Bravery.

The ceremony will take place today, Wednesday, May 29th at 2:10PM at the MLK Jr. City Government Center located at 10 N. 2nd Street Harrisburg, Pa. 17101

All are welcome to attend and honor Officer McGowan for the selfless act in protection of our citizens and fellow officers.
