5th annual Ice & Fire festival in Harrisburg this weekend!

Stop by and say hello to the Harrisburg Bureau of Police’s Community Service Aides this Saturday, March 5th, at the M&T Bank Ice & Fire Festival! The event will be held from 11am to 9pm and features ice sculptures throughout Harrisburg. There will also be a street festival on Front Street from Walnut to Liberty Streets from 11am – 8pm featuring a giant ice slide, fire dancers, smores, performances, food trucks, artisans, vendors, and more. Local businesses will join the fun by offering a variety of activities such as ice and fire-themed cocktail and coffee specials, horse-drawn carriage rides around City Island from 1-6pm, and free crafts. The Whitaker Center will open its Science Center and Digital Cinema for standard rates from 9:30am – 3pm. You can even participate in an Ice & Fire Festival Scavenger Hunt Contest for a chance to win gift cards from Harrisburg City businesses!

Front Street will be closed from Walnut to Forster Streets from 8pm Friday, March 4th until 11:59pm on Saturday, March 5th. The Market Square Garage will offer discounted $10 parking from 9am – 10pm courtesy of Park Harrisburg. Street parking is available throughout the City and is free in the Downtown area after 5pm. Attendees can utilize the ParkMobile app to get up to 4 hours of free street parking in the Downtown area using the code “LUVHBG.” Attendees can also park for free in the lot on Reservoir Drive and Reservoir Park, Greenworks Development lots #2 and #4 on Reily and Logan Streets in Midtown, the 2-hour public parking lot at Verbeke and Fulton Streets in Midtown, and on City Island.

Mayor Wanda R. D. Williams will hold a press conference at 11:30am on Thursday, March 3rd to announce the 5th annual Ice & Fire Festival presented by M&T Bank.
