The Harrisburg Bureau of Police's Community Policing Unit (CPU) is warning "porch pirates" to leave packages where they are.
In proactive efforts to curb the issue of stolen deliveries this holiday season, the CPU is conducting a package theft detail throughout the City of Harrisburg. Police will place fake packages on volunteer residents’ porches and will monitor those deliveries. The objective of the program is to catch culprits and, most importantly, to deter potential criminals. For media inquiries, please contact Sergeant Kyle Gautsch at policepio@harrisburgpa.gov.
