The City of Harrisburg is expecting a large number of outside advocacy groups to rally at the Capitol Complex Monday morning. The Harrisburg Police Department, in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies, is preparing for an event that may impact traffic access to parts of the downtown area. Beginning in the morning, barricades will be distributed at various points along Forster, Second, and Third Streets. Drivers are encouraged to remain vigilant and watch for pedestrians if in the downtown area.

Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse and Police Commissioner Thomas Carter will speak to local news media today at 4:00pm, in reference to this weekends protests and current community concerns. We encourage residents and visitors of Harrisburg to monitor local news outlets for information distributed during this meeting. The Harrisburg Bureau of Police would like to thank it's residents for their patience and understanding during these challenging times in our country, and our communities. 

Due to current events in the City of Harrisburg, Mayor Papenfuse has declared a curfew starting at 9:00 pm this evening. Residents are requested to stay in, or at, their residence. More details will be announced as they become available.

On Tuesday February 18th the Harrisburg Police were dispatched to Wildwood Park for a report of a raccoon that attacked a male, causing minor injuries. The raccoon was located, and due to its unusual and aggressive behavior it was euthanized. The raccoon was taken to a state lab for testing, and did test positive for rabies.

Alyssa Terry was reported missing today, February 6th, from her residence in Harrisburg PA. Terry is 16 years old, is about 5ft 6in tall, and was last seen wearing a yellow fleece pullover with "Atlantic City" on the front of it (image attached is of her earlier today, February 6th). At this time it is believed that Terry may have ran away to the Carlisle area, or Montgomery County Maryland area. If her whereabouts are known please contact the Harrisburg Police at 717-558-6900, and ask to speak to a city detective. A tip can also be submitted through the CRIMEWATCH website.

At 6:48 p.m., we had a single vehicle accident at 7th & Schuklykill Street in which 2 of three occupants are died from their injuries. The vehicle struck and sheared a pole but the neighborhood did not loose power. The accident is under investigation

The Harrisburg Police will host a press conference today at 3:00 p.m. in the Coty Hall Atrium.

On September 28, 2018 at approximately 8:35 PM., the Harrisburg Police responded to the 1300 block of Berryhill Street for a shots fired call. Officers arrived and found a male deceased from a gunshot wound. Detectives responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.
