On Sunday October 6th 2024, at about 3:15pm, the Harrisburg Police responded to the 300 block of North 2nd Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon the arrival of officers, they discovered that a motor vehicle, traveling north on 2nd Street, had left the roadway and struck multiple buildings and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, an adult male, was deceased as a result of their injuries. The driver, and sole occupant of the motor vehicle, was transported to a local hospital and was in critical condition. The Traffic Safety Unit responded to the scene and an investigation was initiated.
