On Sunday January 26 an HBPD Officer observed a VW Jetta turn from Quarry Road onto East Main Street without using a turn signal. Other indicators of impaired driving were observed and the Officer stopped the vehicle. The driver was identified as John Kigera. He admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages prior to driving and also informed the Officer that he was aware that his driver license was under suspension. Kigera failed field sobriety testing and was taken into custody.
Kigera was transported to Central Booking where a blood sample was obtained for further testing. He was processed on the DUI and vehicle code violations and was then held in Central Booking for 6 hours, then released. Charges have been filed.
