UPDATE - HBPD RECOVERED THIS STOLEN VEHICLE SHORTLY AFTER 8 P.M. NEAR N. DUKE STREET AND GRAYSTONE DR. IF YOU THINK YOU MAY HAVE SEEN THE VEHICLE OR ITS DRIVER THE MORNING OF JANUARY 16 BETWEEN 7:45 AM - 9:00 AM SUBMIT A TIP OR CALL HBPD.
On Wednesday, January 16th, 2019 at approximately 0758 hours, HBPD responded to a vehicle theft in the area of S. Railroad St. and W. High St.
It was reported that the victim started her vehicle before leaving for work. The vehicle was unattended for approximately 5-10 minutes. An unknown person entered the vehicle and drove away with it. The vehicle was unlocked and had the keys in the ignition. The stolen vehicle is to be a 2009 Hyundai Tucson, green in color. (SUV)
The stolen vehicle did have two window stickers attached to the rear window. Stickers display "CULLEN" and "GO ARMY, BEAT NAVY." Vehicle displays PA License Plate WP1095
Reminder to all Residents - Chapter 37 of the state vehicle code section 3701 states, "No person driving or in charge of a motor vehicle shall permit the vehicle to stand unattended without placing the gear shift lever in a position which under the circumstances impedes the movement of the vehicle, stopping the engine, locking the ignition in vehicles so equipped, removing the key from the ignition and, when standing upon any grade, turning the front wheels to the curb or side of the highway and effectively setting the brake."
The fine is only $5, but with added costs and surcharges the total is $121.50.
