On Thursday February 16, 2017 at 1:15 am, a Lower Paxton Township Patrol Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation in the 4200 block of Williamsburg Drive. Before fleeing the traffic stop on foot, the driver drove into an unoccupied parked car in the parking lot. The driver was identified as Evan J. Brown, age 27, of the 100 block of Azalea Dr. It was discovered that Brown has an active warrant out of the Lancaster County Sheriff's Department for resisting arrest. A female passenger in the vehicle Brown was driving had an active Protection From Abuse Order against Brown at the time of the incident.
At 9:30 pm on the same date, it was reported that Brown had returned to the location. LPPD responded and after a brief foot pursuit, Brown was taken into custody. He was transported to the Dauphin County Prison on the Lancaster County warrant and is awaiting arraignment on the following charges out of Lower Paxton: One count each of Flight to Avoid Apprehension, Indirect Criminal Contempt (PFA Violation), Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana and Accidents Involving Damage to Unattended Vehicle or Property.
