On May 29 at approximately 3:30am, Lower Paxton Police initiated a traffic stop on a black Cadillac sedan bearing North Carolina registration plates in the area of N. Mountain Road and Allentown Boulevard. The investigating officer observed the sedan proceed straight through this intersection in a clearly marked "Left Turn Only" lane. The driver was not in possession of her driver's license but identified herself as Rhonda Davila. The passenger was positively identified as Devares Vick. Both reported to be from North Carolina.
The investigating officers spoke with the driver and passenger separately and they gave inconsistent stories about their travel plans. Cpl. Miller deployed K-9 Rex - who alerted to the vehicle numerous times.
A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two large packages of suspected cocaine - with a total weight in excess of one kilogram - and cash.
Both the driver and passenger were arrested and transported to the Dauphin County Judicial Center for processing. When the female driver was fingerprinted, it was discovered that she had lied about her identity and was positively identified as Amanda Weikel. In addition to the PWI charge, Weikel was also charged with False ID to Law Enforcement and Driving Under Suspension.
Both were placed in the Dauphin County Prison without bail.
