Police are investigating several thefts from work vehicles at local home improvement stores. On Monday, June 15th, at the Home Depot, 5101 Jonestown Rd. in Lower Paxton Township, a contractor parked a work van in the parking lot and went into the store to purchase supplies. A dark colored Ford Windstar was circling the parking lot at the time and pulled up next to the work van. The passenger jumped out, entered the unlocked work van and removed several specialty tools and a cordless drill. He then reentered the mini-van and they fled the area. A similar incident occurred at Lowe's, 4000 Union Deposit Rd., on Friday, June 12th. The same vehicle was involved in another theft from a work vehicle where over $1000 worth of tools were stolen in the same manner. The vehicle, which appears to be black, is further described as missing the right front wheel cover. The driver was not seen but the passenger is described as being a White/Male of average build wearing shorts and a red T-shirt. The photo shows the Ford Windstar in the parking lot of Home Depot on the day of that theft.
