Fatal Pedestrian Crash

On Monday, April 29 at 9:23pm, Lower Paxton Police were dispatched to the 4200 block of Union Deposit Road in reference to a traffic crash. While en route to the scene, responding officers were notified that the crash involved a struck pedestrian.

Upon arrival, patrol units located an unconscious female laying on the shoulder of the westbound travel lanes of Union Deposit Road. Fire and EMS personnel responded simultaneously with police units and first aid was administered immediately.

A short time later, the pedestrian was transported to the UPMC-Community General Osteopathic Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. She was identified as 42-year-old Bianca Filippelli of Lower Paxton Township.

Investigating officers spoke to multiple witnesses on scene and learned that a white SUV was in the area at the time of the crash.

The driver of the white SUV was not on scene at the time of police arrival and has yet to be identified. The investigation has not yet determined if the white SUV was involved in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
