New K-9 joins LPTPD

The Lower Paxton Township Police Department announces the addition of its newest member, a Police K-9 named Chase. Officer "Chase" joined the force on 03/08/2018 and is partnered with Officer Mike Elezovic, who joined the LPTPD in 2016.  Officer Chase is a male German Shepherd / Belgian Malinois mix who is just over one year old.  Officer Elezovic was selected to be the K-9 handler through an inner-department selection process.  The department had several officers willing to step up to the challenge and take on this additional responsibility, which demonstrates the level of commitment and dedication the officers have to the citizens of this community, their co-workers, and their profession.  Officer Elezovic and Chase will spend the next several weeks in training before they begin their patrol duties.  In addition to their patrol assignments, Officer Elezovic and Chase will be participating in community events and other police functions involving the men and women the LPTPD.   Officer Mike Elezovic and Chase come on board as the second K-9 unit for LPTPD.  They join the already existing K-9 team which includes Officer Chad Miller and K-9 Officer Rex.
