UPDATE - HEADER WAS CAPTURED IN ALABAMA ON 8/29/17
Lower Swatara Township, PA – On July 24, 2016, the Lower Swatara Township Police Department responded to a heroin overdose death. After a 10 month investigation, Police have obtained a warrant for the person who delivered the drugs, resulting in death of a 36 year old Township man. The incident occurred in the First block of Nissley Dr. in the Township.
On 5/24/17 the Lower Swatara Township Police obtained a warrant for Matthew Dean Header, 46, of the 2000 block of Mountain Rd in Dalmatia, PA. Header, also known as "The Giant" or "Giant" is a white, male, 6 feet 9 inches tall. Header, while listing the Dalmatia address is also known to have multiple addresses. Header is wanted at this time and police are working on locating him.
Lower Swatara Township Police have filed Drug Delivery Resulting in Death and Delivery of a Controlled substance against Header.
Lower Swatara Township is not immune to the heroin epidemic. Since January 1, 2017 Township Police have responded to seven (7) heroin related overdoses. Five of those seven have been revived with Narcan. Lower Swatara Township Police continue to pursue all narcotics investigations.
