Recently, stolen car investigations have increased for the Middletown Police Department. In each circumstance investigators learned that each of the vehicles were most likely unsecured. In addition the perpetrator found the spare key left in the vehicle.
The Middletown Police Department is asking that citizen be more diligent in securing their vehicles avoid leaving keys inside the vehicle.
The PA Auto Theft Authority reported that nearly 50% of the state's stolen cars were left unlocked by their owners. The single most important prevention tool is to lock your car and take their keys.
