Shawn Logan age 27, of Boas Street in Penbrook, is charged with Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Flight to Avoid Apprehension, and related charges from an incident at a youth baseball practice on Thursday evening May 10, 2018.
Logan came to his children’s youth Baseball practice intoxicated and became disorderly demanding his children be removed from the game. The mother of the children who was present, the team coach who is also a widely know police officer in Penbrook, and others, tried to calm Logan and escort him from the field. Logan continued to be disorderly, and when the officer advised him he was under arrest Logan resisted and assaulted the officer knocking him to the ground. Logan fled on foot but was captured a moments later by officers as he attempted to reenter the baseball field.
Logan was arraigned at night court and release after posting $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is currently schedule for May 31, 2018 with Magisterial District Judge James Lenker.
