Vehicles unlawfully entered

The Penbrook Police Department has recently seen an uptick in thefts from unlocked vehicles and similar crimes.  We would like to remind our citizens to lock their vehicles every time you park and to report any suspicious activity.

Additionally, if you observe a crime or suspicious activity in progress, contact the police department through the Dauphin County Department of Public Safety dispatch center by calling 911 or their non-emergency number (717) 558-6900.  Please DO NOT call directly to the Penbrook Police Department or use email/Facebook/Crimewatch to report active incidents.  Although the Penbrook Police Department provides 24/7 police coverage, there is not always a police officer at the station to answer the phone.  Many times, all on-duty officers are either on foot patrol or patrolling in their vehicles.

This department is in possession of several items believed to have been recently stolen from vehicles.  If you are missing any items from your vehicle, please contact us.

Finally, if you are the victim of a theft or attempted theft from your vehicle, please always contact the police and report the incident.  Many times, people do not report these crimes especially if the loss is minor.  It is important that all these crimes be brought to the attention of the police.  Reporting these incidents helps us know where to focus our patrols.
