The Steelton Police recently charged two residents each with 9 counts of endangering the welfare of children due to an investigation that began back in October. On 10-19-18 officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of Spruce Street when it was discovered that eight children ranging in ages from 1 to 10 years of age where left home alone. The children were found alone with there residence in unlivable conditions and they were all taken into protective custody. Dauphin County Children in Youth did come to the scene and assisted in the investigation. On 02-07-19 criminal charges were filed against Jamie Himes and Jason Crawford for nine counts of endangering the welfare of children (F-3). Due to the complexity of this case, the investigation continues even though charges have been filed.
