Dog Law Violations

On Tuesday, August 26th at 6:18pm Steelton Police were called to the 700 block of South River Alley for a dog bite victim. This is the second Pit Bull problem in this same area but this is not the same dog. During this most recent incident an 8 yr old child was severely bitten by a Pit Bull dog. The incident, as reported to police, occurred when several children were playing and riding their scooters in River Alley when the Pit Bull apparently crawled under an opening in it's fenced-in yard. After the Pit Bull escaped it charged the young male and began biting him including his face and lower leg. An alert and brave neighbor immediately intervened by pulling and punching the Pit Bull until it let go of the child. An ambulance was summoned to the scene and transported the child to Harrisburg Hospital Emergency Room. The owners of the Pit Bull dog were identified as Dawn Wright and Steven Vujasinovich. Both defendants will be receiving several violations of the Dog Law including : Dangerous Dog; Dog License; Vaccination Required and Failure to Confine. The citations will be filed at MDJ Kenneth A Lenker 12-2-02
