On 12-22-2020, Steelton Borough Police obtained arrest warrants for Mason Quailes, of Harrisburg, and Shnasia Peterson, of Steelton, for the homicide of Ismail Lewis on September 2nd, 2020. Qualies and Peterson are both charged with first degree murder, second degree murder, conspiracy to commit first degree murder, robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery. Qualies is currently incarcerated for a separate incident and will be arraigned on the above charges.
On 12-18-2020 at approximately 3:30AM, Steelton Borough Police were dispatched to the Turkey Hill on North Front Street for a report of an armed robbery. The suspect was armed with a gun and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Steelton Police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying the individual in the attached photos.
On 12-15-2020 at approximately 11:00am, Steelton Borough Police found the dog in the attached photo injured near the intersection of South Front and Felton Streets. An officer transported the dog to an emergency veterinarian. Any information on the owner of the dog can be reported through a Crimewatch submission, by calling 717-939-9841, or to Cpl. Steelton Borough Police would like to alert the public to recent phone scams involving individuals identifying themselves as representatives of the Internal Revenue Service and Federal Reserve System. These scammers are telling people that they owe money and are wanted by police. The callers have foreign accents and some of the recent calls are coming from a New Jersey area code 201.

On Wednesday, 9-2-2020, Steelton Borough Police were dispatched to the 500 block of North Front Street for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 39-year-old Ismail Lewis, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Lewis did succumb to his injuries on scene. The Steelton Borough Police Department began an investigation with the support of the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office, the Dauphin County Forensic Unit, and several other surrounding jurisdictions.
