Steelton Borough Police would like to announce that trick-or-treating will take place on Saturday, October 31st, from 6pm-8pm.
On Wednesday, 9-2-2020, Steelton Borough Police were dispatched to the 500 block of North Front Street for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 39-year-old Ismail Lewis, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Lewis did succumb to his injuries on scene. The Steelton Borough Police Department began an investigation with the support of the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office, the Dauphin County Forensic Unit, and several other surrounding jurisdictions.
Ticketing for street sweeping violations in the Borough of Steelton began today, Monday, July 27th, 2020, and will continue until the end of November. The Borough of Steelton and its Police Department are outraged by the criminal acts of Derek Chauvin and the other Minneapolis Police officers involved in the tragic death of George Floyd. We send our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. There is no justification for the horrific actions that took the life of Mr. Floyd, as our Department stands against brutality and inequality.
On Friday 04-17-2020 the Steelton Police Tactical Narcotics Team executed a search warrant in the 700 block of South 2nd Street.
Steelton Borough Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the following individual. On 3-2-2020 at approximately 12:50pm, officers were dispatched to the Family Dollar at 803 South Front St for a report of a theft. Upon viewing surveillance footage, officers observed the suspect walk into the store with no merchandise, pick up an item, then fraudulently return it for cash.
On 09-30-19 Michael D. Magaro II plead guilty to 3rd degree murder, firearms offenses and tampering with evidence at the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas. The Honorable William Tully sentenced Magaro to 25 to 50 years in a state correctional facility. This stems from an incident that occurred on 11-06-17 in the 400 block of North Front Street in the borough of Steelton.
