On January 5, 2021 at approximately 0345hrs the Susquehanna Township Police attempted to encounter two juvenile males in the area of Linglestown Road & Terrace Place for violations of curfew and lighting requirements of their bicycles. Upon initial contact with the juveniles, they attempted to flee the responding officers. After a brief chase one of the juvenile suspects was detained and the second was able to elude capture.
Further investigation into the matter revealed that the juvenile suspects were responsible for recent thefts from autos in the Deer Path community. The investigation led to the detained juvenile being arrested for theft from motor vehicles, fleeing and eluding, receiving stolen property, loitering & prowling, possession of a controlled substance and curfew.
The investigation is still ongoing for the identification of the second suspect and possible connection to other “theft from auto” incidents in the Montrose Park and Uptown areas of the township.
