On 8-10-13 at approximately 0207 hours, Swatara Township Police responded to the 400 block of South Harrisburg Street for a single-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers found that a vehicle had collided with, and toppled, a utility pole. The driver had fled the scene on foot. Subsequent investigation by the officers revealed that Nathan Groff had been driving the vehicle. He was located and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Officers obtained a search warrant for Groff’s medical records, and have charged him with DUI, Accidents Involving Damage to Unattended Vehicle or Property, Careless Driving, and Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked.
