Swatara Detectives located and apprehended Armonte Hamilton in Harrisburg City this afternoon. He is current being held at the Dauphin County Booking Center awaiting arraignment.
On Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 6:18 a.m. the Swatara Police were dispatched to 209 N. 32nd Street for a person threatening to burn a dwelling during a domestic dispute. While officers were responding to the scene they were notified that the 911 center received calls reporting the house on fire. Upon arrival the officers found the front of the house heavily engulfed in flames. Firefighters from the Paxtang Fire Company and other local agencies arrived on scene quickly and rapidly extinguished the fire. Investigators from the Swatara Township Police and Dauphin County Fire Investigation Team determined that this fire was intentionally set by twenty eight year old Armonte Hamilton. No persons were injured however a one year old Pit Bull canine died in the fire.
The Swatara Police are attempting to locate and apprehend Armonte Hamilton as he is charged with several Arson Related Charges, Recklessly Endanger Persons and Cruelty to Animals.
