Just before midnight on March 5th, 2010, the Swatara Township Police were dispatched to a hit-and-run crash in front of 500 North Harrisburg Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that a pedestrian had been struck by a southbound vehicle. The vehicle had fled the scene, and several citizens were tending to the pedestrian. Although he was rushed to a local hospital, the victim died as a result of the injuries he received. Police Officers were unable to locate the striking vehicle, and the driver of that vehicle never came forward.
The Swatara Township Police Department continues to investigate this crash, and is asking for help from the public. Certainly, someone knows something about this crash that can assist us in making an arrest. As it was described to the police, the striking vehicle was a small car, silver in color, with a lip-style spoiler, and triangular taillights.
