On Sunday, September 9, 2018 at approximately 7:00 p.m., a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro operated by Blake Cox pulled into the intersection of Chambers and Essex Streets and struck a Swatara Township Fire truck that was responding to an emergency call. After striking the fire truck Cox fled the scene in his damaged vehicle after which he was located by Swatara Police Officers a few blocks from the accident scene. Cox, a 24 year old male from the 4100 block of Ridgeview Road in Lower Paxton Township, resisted arrest during which he bit and head-butted a Swatara Officer. No firefighters were injured during this motor vehicle accident.
Cox was charged with Aggravated Assault, Resisting Arrest, D.U.I. and several motor vehicle code violations. He was arraigned at the Dauphin County Booking Center during which he was assigned $150,000.00 bail. He is currently being held in the Dauphin County Prison pending his preliminary hearing.
