***UPDATE, 9/29/2016*** Swatara Police Investigating Body found in Spring Creek by Greenbelt parking area.



*** UPDATE *** 

  An autopsy was completed on William Bettis and the Dauphin County Coroner's office has ruled the death as accidental from fresh water drowning.

  On Tuesday September 27th, at 9:38 am, Swatara Police were dispatched to Spring Creek near the Greenbelt parking area for a report of a deceased male found in the creek by a person walking the trail. Detectives have identified the male as William Pettis, B/M/69, from Venice Beach, California. Pettis had travelled to the area from California via bus for a family function. Family members advised that Pettis suffered from Dementia. There does not appear to be foul play involved in this incident. An autopsy will be performed on Thursday, Sept 29th.
