Police Search for Suspect in Bank Robbery
On June 3rd at 2:36 PM, Swatara Township Police responded to the Mid Penn Bank located at 4509 Derry Street for a robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned that a suspect had entered the bank and handed a demand note to one of the tellers. The note made mention of a gun, but no weapon was ever displayed. The teller provided the suspect with an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled through the front doors of the bank. He was last seen running to the east side of the bank building. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
No one was injured during the event.
The suspect is described as a black male, possibly in his 30's, approximately 5'10" tall and weighing about 220 pounds. He was wearing a black baseball hat, large black sunglasses, black cargo-style shorts, a plain white t-shirt, black sneakers, and white socks pulled up over his shins.
