Swatara Township PD's High Enforcement Action Team takes to the streets

The Swatara Township Police Department's High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) took to the streets this past Friday night for its first official detail. The team, which was created by current Swatara Township Police Chief Darrell Reider, is comprised of several Swatara Township police officers, detectives, and two Dauphin County Probation & Parole Officers. The purpose of the team is to proactively fight violent and specific community based crimes in the Township. This team focuses its efforts in high crime areas to detect and deter crime and apprehend violent offenders. The HEAT is capable of immediately and proactively addressing specific crimes within the Township by quickly providing a highly visible presence within those areas.

The detail from this past Friday night resulted in 10 Criminal Arrests for drug related offenses and Driving Under the Influence. Two vehicles were impounded as a result of these drug investigations and several thousand dollars in suspected drug money was also seized.
